a chance discovery threw open the doors of a quaint and exclusive boutique on Abdul Majid Raya in Jakarta. Mystical windows drew me in; I wanted to enter the world of Jeffry Tan.

No airs and graces, Jeffry jumped out of his office to greet me. It was warm, charming, witty and cool. My Beady Eye Scope shop and I instantly fell in love. The cuts of his drawings are clean yet convoluted, strong and feminine, sweet but difficult. All these contradictions are what make a particularly beautiful dress Tan. These experimental creations come to life because of the retail Jeffry attention.

He trained at ESMOD School of Design France in Jakarta. Having been around fashion for most of his life (his parents own a clothing factory), it seems that his profession was foreordained. With such undeniable DNA expected, but nothing excellence him. Jeffry said he had always wanted to do something creative and found that fashion has provided this environment. For him, fashion is "both difficult and fascinating."

I commend him for a coup that designers dream and that is to see Kylie Minogue wearing one of his creations - a funky, chic, sexy tuxedo combination

Kylie Minogue wearing a combination Jeffry Tan in his last video

she wore in the video for her new single "Right Here, Right Now". He replies that it is indeed an honor. I wonder if there is a famous person past or present he would like to dress up and he told me he would have chosen Kylie!

It is her idol and her eyes an ideal JT girl that encapsulates a subtle and sexy femininity relaxed, humorous and with a strong side but vulnerable.

Jeffry cites his influences of graphic design and interior architecture. He initially specialized in menswear and even for his last show of the year, there was a collection of men's clothing that he sent on the track. He later decided that the completed male and female fashion idea was to create a line for women. Thank God!

He believes that "women's fashion is more fluid and conceptual, with changing tastes of women, combined with a lifetime of commitment to understand women and your customers."

In 2009, Jeffry decided to launch its "open kitchen" showroom of fashion. Here you can see designs on mannequins and order what you like, made to fit you perfectly. This is a tailored experience, no frills, just downright do good work! You can purchase samples off the racks and I recommend to check his shoes. Although for the track, you can buy if you have big feet, size model. He can answer all sizes and European sizes made to 42 (and it can go beyond), which is hard to find in Jakarta.

The tan look is distinctive and has evolved with its customer base. It may take about three weeks from the beginning to the production of a color sample and four to five months to a collection. Jeffry takes his job seriously and quality control check your materials so that you have this problem to follow the washing instructions on clothing only to find it was reincarnated in a dress that would fit perfectly on your pet Chihuahua company!

The fabrics are carefully selected for quality, comfort and flexibility of movement. It is obvious that Jeffry invites me to try on some of his drawings in the studio. I protest that I am too plus size sneak in one of her beautiful gowns. I relent - Jeffry is convincing. I try on a beautiful green race number. It is long with subtle sparkles in the V-neck area and flying folds around the stomach area ruthless. Until I looked in the mirror, I'm terribly suspicious flying! But yes, I looked skinnier than skinny latte! I felt foxy, yet I entered, the cut of the dress is my approach resembles the elegance of a ballerina. Some enchanting magic is created when a tan dress adorns your body. So at that time I order a siren red version and a pair of super-duper awesome harem pants with a twist. Just like that!

The new collection will be ready to wear in May. Expect stratification, jackets and trousers, with bright colors like burnt orange, aquamarine and turquoise.

Lilium Dress 2012

For those of you hooked, he makes wedding dresses too. There is a beautiful white dress called Lilium a previous collection that you can have custom-made. It is beautifully ethereal, with attention to beautiful details in the back. The inspiration came from a trip to India and Calla lily. In the most delicate chiffon silk, using a method of traditional weaving alat tenun bukan mesin , this dress would make the most intriguing wedding dress, which requires minimal accessories.

Jeffry Tan thing is that it sticks to "I know" and "like to use strong colors like navy, black, cream, gold, solid red and burgundy, as after everyone looks great in the navy or dark colors! "

If you have a designer whose personal mantra or rationale is" to achieve the best I can, give that extra mile in all my efforts, "you can not hurt to invest your hard earned money to become a member of the Tan society.

I ask if he Jeffry guess fashion design may be as complex as architecture, he said no, but in his opinion, there are similarities in terms of proportions, the concept and finishing for fashion design has ingredients that affect our feelings.. these thought processes are clearly visible in his designs, the vivid, striking fluidity and how they caress the body.

When asked who among his contemporaries he admires most, without hesitation mentions Jeffry Biyan, and also Didi Budiardjo as "I like the way he thinks and intriguing manipulates the fabric . "

We talk about where he sees his eponymous label in time a decade. he would like to see developed, but not in a manner that causes the loss of identity, as was the case for other brands. You can say Jeffry is a thoughtful planner and walk before he runs!
