Movida Tapas Cipete goes through changes and it is all about the menu! After opening a branch in Mall citos with the original casual menu, Spanish-British chief executive and owner Verdaguer Manuel decided to return behind the oven and let his imagination go wild to create a closer gourmet menu to detail, presentation and combination of flavors.

Movida Tapas is one of the few restaurants serving Spanish tapas established as far south in the city, and is well known among the people of Cipete and Cilandak. The tapas restaurant opened in 2011 in order to offer dishes the most famous of Spain, tapas, to Jakartans. Tapas is the Spanish word for aperitif and is a kind of equivalent to the Indonesian Padang; small meal portions. It is designed to be shared and encourage conversation around the table.

If the concept of tapas rest, the original branch Cipete intensifies his game to offer a more upscale gourmet menu with more popular taste combinations and fine presentations. To do this, the Verdaguer chief decided to come back in the kitchen and get the full creative mode. Indonesia Expat was invited to have a taste of his new creations and although it is still on the cutting board, we were particularly pleased with huevos rotos, egg poached with chorizo, potatoes, baked vegetables, cherry tomatoes, red pepper sauce and ice cream sandwich churros with chocolate sauce. The new menu will be revealed later this month. But do not worry, the good old classics remain as albandigas con salsa picante tomato (meatballs with spicy tomato sauce) or Palla marisco (Spanish rice with seafood).

reinvented with a new menu, Tapas Movida also launching Latino Night from October 10 e . Just in time for practice for Latin annual ball! salsa lessons for beginners will start at 19:30 until 20:30, followed by a social evening of dancing salsa, bachata, merengue, reggaeton, with a live DJ.

Also taking advantage of its British heritage, the chef also launched a good old full menu of English breakfast, including English bacon and sausages, hash browns and black pudding, of course, with a Spanish flair, featuring authentic Spanish cheese.

Chief Verdaguer was born in Spain and raised in England. Before moving to Indonesia in 2007, he worked in several Michelin star restaurants and hotels in the UK, such as the Café Royal, High Park Corner, and Grosvenor Hotel.
