Negev is still a new kid on the block, the opening there are only 6 months and is one of the cake shops "harvest" I think the best cheesecake in Jakarta recently. Food and Beverage Director, Eric Gouteyron created desserts Negev as it does in the harvest. A native of France, Eric was a pastry chef all his life, working in the River Cafe in New York for 17 years and has been based in Dubai before moving to Indonesia a year ago. "I worked with many Indonesians in Dubai. They are very nice people and that was the best team I had, "he says, in part, why he made the trip to Jakarta.
In Dubai, Eric worked with Chief Chandra which is coincidentally the executive chef of the Negev. "Dubai in 2007 was fun and full of competition," says Chandra leader. He moved to Dubai in a five star hotel in Jakarta, joining hands with Eric chef Negev again by chance and without thinking. Kismet? well, the proof is in the taste and tasty, it is safe.
the menu is east Meets West and the presentation is inventive. We sampled a salmon juicy the grill, served with a papaya sauce Barbecue, followed by baby chicken spring Ravioli of beef and an incredibly rich and moreish mushroom Risotto. Bravo to the chef Chandra. Try the mushroom soup which won the award for best dish at research.
Then came the moment I had waited ... desserts. Chef Eric proudly brings forward a hot caramel pudding with butter sauce and vanilla cream that made me want to wrap a blanket around me and snuggle in front of an open fire, followed by beautiful Negev chocolate Bar, a name that does justice to this dessert - dark chocolate mousse Sebayon, Crunchy Praline layered with coffee ice cream, caramelized pine nuts and nougatine with Marshmallow home. Presented inspiringly and with so much care, this dessert is a must and make sure you take the perfect bite, loading up your spoon with a little of each segment to really enjoy all the flavors that make up this masterpiece . The Negev is a desert Negev in Israel and it is an oasis in Jakarta. A great place to entertain with sumptuous interiors and impressive kitchen just as delicious and a place that will make you come back for more.
