Wednesday evening to 19 hours usually means business to face Bar. Comfortable attached at the end of Jalan Kusuma Atmaja, Menteng, just before he met the roundabout HI, is the go-to watering hole for office workers nearby. For a place that is usually frequented by professional high pressure and journalists, NGOs and diplomats involved (such as embassies are dozens around the area), it has a laid-back and intimate atmosphere. I said, "Now, this is the place to relax"
Face Bar is part of the face of institutions; the chain has branches in Shanghai, Beijing and Bangkok Division Jakarta.. well appointed face Jakarta, is the oldest of the four, designed in 1992. the four rooms have a dining room and bar oriental concept face Jakarta has two restaurants and a bar;. Lan Na Thai serves refined Thai, Hazara offers fine Indian cuisine and Face bar is a oriental bar on the enchanting theme
Face bar is a place with no name signs -. only an address number on the front of the room and a map depicting the Buddha's face on it - and yet people continue to arrive There is a small public secret of a common course, there is a place for creatures of habit that automatically make their means.. the bar after a long day at the office, but the new converts seem to be coming through the lot as well.
Face Bar has a name that precedes his reputation and be happy that someone told you about this bar.
The periphery of the room is a main road, busy, but do not be fooled, there is an intimate setting and exotic waiting inside. The philosophy Face Bar wishes to convey is illustrated by creating an image of a caravanserai; an inn along the busy Silk Road, which at the time was used for weary travelers from different corners of the earth to rest from travel day. As trade routes from Jakarta come to an end after working hours, Face Bar is a place where people can rest and relax. The place has been designed to include many Eastern influences, hence the Chinese bed dining room, the Indian-inspired mirrors adorning the walls corner and Thai interior designs among many other details. He is a genius decorations melting pot and it is where people gather.
There were six full tables easily when I arrived and a lot of people at the bar. A busy night for a Wednesday, with its happy hour, which is available daily from 5-8pm and all night on Sunday. incoming guests welcome friends and acquaintances as they enter the premises; there is a familiarity atmosphere. While men prefer beer or wine, it seems that the cocktails at Face Bar are geared toward a more feminine persuasion, with the elegant and attractive aesthetics. Green apple martini (Rp.80,000) is my favorite, between a couple of drinks ordered. There was a good balance between sweetness and strength of alcohol. Mind you, the white wine Sangria (Rp.90,000) was also a classic refreshing; this fruity concoction was made with careful hands - not mastered the use of white wine, but not just another fruit drink. Closing the night with a Gin Crush was a great decision; a smooth glass muddled strawberry, lime and gin I can see me enjoy after a long day of work. Those who are not big fans of gin could even grow to love with this mixture. I am convinced that Face Bar drinks are very well designed classics; a testimony of "quality over quantity". It's a decent bar with no excessive cocktail list items, but they are perfected and refined.
Wandering away from the typical chips and nuts as bar food, Face Bar went another direction with Thai and Indian snacks to match their formula. The vegetarian spring rolls (Rp.45,000) were served with Thai and browned to a crisp sauce, holding the crispness of integrity without the whole roll being soggy. It was a nice tasty complement to drinks. Then came the taste of Indian cuisine Face Jakarta; Murgh Tikka the (Rp.57,000), a tasty appetizer of chicken marinated in yoghurt and paneer pakora. The latter was an instant favorite with cottage cheese fries with a spicy and lemony coating. It was a delicious mix of freshness and comfort, especially when adding a side of mint chutney in the equation; there is some spice and fun rind chutney. It was a royal spread food bar.
It is easy to appreciate the delicious pan-Asian authentic flavors and quality drinks at Face Bar. But the real gem is the place itself; Face Bar is a meeting point you cozy and comfortable. Mingling and conversations are nicely facilitated with background music not too loud and the lighting dimmed to set the mood. Some nights there is even a jazz band to accompany casual night guests on the bar face. On average, a typical night of drinks and food would cost you around Rp.390,000.
This particular area of Central Jakarta, although busy, is isolated enough that the street noises do not care your visit. Parking is available through valet parking; Free but please tip the attendant.
Some have said that this bar is an "institution"; a place where a collection of evicted persons or companies with similar motifs come together to perform a simple task - relaxation. I think it is a term quite appropriate for the Bar face.
