Baby Back Ribs

Welcome to Alcoholics Bar & Grill. Those of you who have ventured in Alcoholics know, customers are heard and appreciated here. Chef Patrick listened to his guests when they inquired about pork and ribs, which paved the way for a new favorite on the menu Alcoholics - Baby Back Ribs. Recipes for popular dishes such as ribs may be controversial among chefs and gourmets when claims of greatness or superiority come in. On the internet you can find a plethora of suggestions, reviews, recipes and discussions about the ingredients and techniques that bode for the best ribs. Fortunately for us, the chef Patrick used his experience and his knowledge and presented his own recipe that competitor on the market for competitive coasts. Ribs are not the only new edition to the menu. They also created a beer cocktail, which is a recommended accompaniment back ribs; a bit of a man dealing snob if you ask me! The ribs come with a salad and a choice of potatoes or fries mashed. The beer cocktail consists of beer, tequila, cointreau and lime.

Beer Cocktail My experience with beer other than by his lonesome had been with Shandy and Submarine (tequila drink in a mug of beer - not so tasty) (Delicious!). Hearing the ingredients of the beer cocktail made me feel nervous. First, it is generally not beer or cocktail cocktail of beer and other, tequila or you love or hate ... I hate tequila. So when we were presented with frosted mug holding the alcohol that I fear most, I was reluctant to take the first sip. I watched the reaction of my companion for this review, Daniel, before I make my own attempt. He seemed to enjoy it, but warned me that it was "punchy". After my first sip I waited for the feeling of discomfort which thankfully never came. I still had to decide whether the drink was for me, but I certainly do not hate him. I like gin and tonic cocktail and beer had a resemblance to a gin and tonic in the clean and polished taste, but instead of gin, a subtle taste lingered tequila and left. It was hot, fresh and deceptively alcoholic.

Then come the ribs. A giant party holding me the question if I have to cancel our dessert. The presentation was clean and simple; a large white plate close to the length of my arm extended with a brilliant coasts slab laid on, spicy chips and tossed salad. The ribs, as it should be, in the traction of the meat with the ease of the bone. I knew I would not be able to complete the entire slab I ate from the middle and end; it was a little too big for me, so I give a third of my slab receiving the happy Daniel. The ribs were evenly cooked and glazed with barbecue sauce made with Jack Daniels. The consistency of the glaze was sticky and thick enough to provide the flavor without request more sauce or seasoning. If you did not go to Alcoholics or maybe you have, but did not order the ribs, just give it a try and maybe you will find that flights to Bali is not the only way to enjoy a good slab of ribs. Although the show is part of the ribs, the salad was dressed with vinaigrette and in good proportion to steer clear of being a garnish or an irrelevant part of the dish. The fries were plentiful, crisp and thrown into a mixture of spices; probably seasoned with paprika.

Amaretto Souffle We decided to spoil us and continue with dessert soufflé as a necessary indulgence from time to time (most of the time to be honest). But after our enormous meal, we had to take a break and enjoy our soft drink slowly to make room. The time had come after half an hour and nearly escaped a food coma. The Amaretto blown Baileys ice cream was delicious. Soufflé tasted like creamy marzipan from the bottom of the flavored cream with Amaretto. The summit was light, but not frothy, good density. Ice cream could not be mistaken; Baileys and cream are a marriage that can never be broken, a classic blend too good to be set aside as a cliché.

So if you have not been to Alcoholics or have, but have yet to order their new dishes, come here Tuesday to Friday 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 and all day on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am to 12 hours. Brunch is available on weekends from 10:00 to 2:00 p.m..
