for forty-five years, the British women Association (BWA) Jakarta offered the community support and friendship for the citizens of the Kingdom -um and other expatriates. Many formed strong bonds continue decades, only separated by time zones.
Their social protection program contributes to charitable causes through a series of fundraising events, including its annual fashion show, which is the largest collection of charity funds in Jakarta. Now in its 33 e year, it is one of the most anticipated shindigs Jakarta and social calendar height. It is a black tie dress show, complemented by a three course dinner and topped by a fashion show and dance performed by members BWA. Many months of blood, sweat and tears are spent perfecting their craft.

In 2015, the theme "Space Odyssey, beyond sight and sound" transport us to the constellation of stars. Ambitious, you might think, but 9 e May saw the Shangri-La stellar look her best.
This year, I became a part of the rookie team, thrown right in the deep vermilion. We swam for our lives and that at the other end, surviving to tell the tale and live another day! For my sins, I was part of the design team and also debuted my foray into fashion. It would not be exaggeration to say that it was a challenge Jurassic.

The planning for this evening was a huge task. The organizing committee to step back, producers, hair and makeup, choreographers, models, designers, fittings, culinary preparations and aids that go unnoticed behind the scenes, all contributed to into a most splendid night of a thousand stars.
This year we were fortunate to have some fantastic new designers taking part, presenting a whole new audience of expatriates and wealthy exuberant. There was the flamboyant and exuberant Ivan Gunawan, graceful and pulchritudinous Aurelia Santoso, the vampish Kiki O'Donnell and elegant, classic and chic featuring Erika Weinzinger and the deliciously scented camp and Kiki Adam. the intelligent use of the wonderful Dini Pratiwi Irawati denim and twist beautification drew admiring applause at a show with his creations.

Biasa Shop, whose laid back, easy drawings have served the elegant beach lovers in Bali and Jakarta, given a voucher and bumper gift clothing for the show. We Galeries Lafayette, the equivalent of Jakarta at Saks on Fifth or Selfridges London, generously provide large labels to choose from. They wear funky European brands such as Zadig & Voltaire, Sandro, Maje and Kooples. Galeries Lafayette is also incredible support from local brands and have a corner dedicated to Fashion Lab highlight up-and-coming designers, which dressed the eccentric Lady Gaga. The jovial and licentious designer Yudhistira, whose mantra is sexy, created designs for the model group assigned to it who were delightfully tasty and libidinous -. A perfect match made in heaven
The night was in a word frabjous! To see Jakarta finest in their finest regalia was a really nice view. The entrance of the ballroom hall was decorated with a theme of light from space and highlighted all the designers, each allocated with a mannequin to drape a show-stopping dress. A creator who came to deliver their dresses for the show, seen what other designers were exposed, promptly and quickly turned on his heels and brought another splashy dress to compete for attention from the crowd!

As the evening proceeded and the guests were introduced to the Grand Ballroom, the atmosphere became electrifying! The Space Odyssey theme began to take shape. Special effects of laser beams and atmospheric sounds have transformed the ballroom into a sexy Star Wars meets Avatar, Apollo 13, Star Trek and of course 2001 A Space Odyssey experience!
With meals served and made speeches, including one by the wife of the British ambassador, the show's time has exploded on the scene. Repeat months, interspersed with grain, tears, image problems, impossible egos, vacillation, laughter and camaraderie makes for an alchemy that wore a stunning visual spectacle spell. Makeup, hair and clothes exploded in a Molotov entertainment ever known. In a year and a half short hours, it was all over, with the final launch announcing the start of complex shapes on the dance floor! Dance we did, continuing to nightclub bats. As the evening ended, after consuming an amber nectar ocean, much like a plaintive parrot or a newt while intoxicated. The next morning, with much laughter, they their memories how liberating it is to lose one of inhibitions if only for one night!
In the name of charity, we have collected funds for the BWA social protection program. Designers Ivan Gunawan and Yudhistira given red carpet dresses at auction, even elegant menswear Laxmi, electric blue tuxedo with captivating proudly between two dresses waiting for a new owner.
