I recently had a good chat with the earthy jewelry designers torque indie who presented their work at BrightSpot market in Jakarta. The objective of BrightSpot is to provide an outlet for local and international designers present their innovative and original work to a receptive group funky junkies.

All creations Tarita Aurora in its range of jewelry, shamanic Sets are produced by his own hand - each piece is unique and original and influenced by the natural patterns in nature. I was eager to explore the philosophies behind the craft Tarita.

I grew up in Sydney, Australia, from age 10 until I 23, when I returned recently in Indonesia. I grew up with a diverse group of creative people and out-of-the-box super in Newtown. We challenged each other to be original and constantly bounced ideas. I guess my DIY principle was greatly influenced by these guys. They silently taught me that every single piece captures a "soul" of origin or gasoline where it is in your own hands. I also just really enjoy doing things with my hands; it is something of meditation for me.

Are all of your creations inspired by the "Heaven, Earth and Sea" and if so, how?

Yes most of my designs are inspired by designs found in nature, unaltered by human hands, so I'm trying to run with the patterns of nature. I believe 'n' bits pieces from all the places I ' have traveled the world as well, not only in Indonesia, and if I do not get to travel, I usually get my friends to take me every bit of nature, they can find their travels

You once posted, "Indie designers SHOULD support each other and resolve differences with respect, clear communication and mutual understanding. We should not compete with one another, because no matter how "similar" designs are the unique touch always prevail. "Is there a background story behind this?

Not really, just a general social observation. It follows from friends and customers comments when, for example, I BrightSpot'd be on to and there would be another feather jewelery stall. the first impression would be like "Ooo there is competition," but I never got that impression. I think all creations (no matter how similar ) are unique and no matter how much they try to imitation, the result will always be different. it is quite natural and I think if we support each other with positive vibrations and words of encouragement, we help push refine and find our own signature styles.

I tattooing long before I did any other work. I did a short learning after high school, when I was 18-19 years. Tattooing was my original purpose since the age of about 14-15 years, for some strange reason. I grew up in a family of artists, both in the arts and technical fields. My father is an architect, painter, my mother, my cousin is a technical designer sneakers, I therefore scratches on paper since I was a little girl. I passed 12-14 years in Australia, since I was 10. Artistic impressive crazy people in my hometown helped me to push the boundaries of creativity and mediums.

While Tarita brainstorm plans to produce a collection of silver jewelry, it is paused beaches, but Articles shamanic Sets are available for order online and it also accepts custom orders.

Indie designers Salvita Decorte and Noran Bakrie also presented their jewelry line, Zlaba at BrightSpot market. Curious about their multi-talented origins, I asked Noran on how these two artistic minds have become partners to create Zlaba.

I am a photographer and Sal is a fashion model, we met at work; Sal I was shooting in his native country in Bedugul, Bali. We became friends after, especially when she got a contract in Jakarta so that it offers and we dragged more often. We hear in terms of art taste and I rarely find someone who likes things that I like in this city, so that one day we were eating sashimi and Sal told me that she made jewelry and showed me his creations, I am fed. He was on the sea. I'm all about the sea, I fell in love instantly. And I told him about my plans for a jewelry line called "ZLABA", it means the moon in Tibetan, then it was the turn of Sal be fed because she said it is all about the moon. So there you go. The moon and the sea got married and gave birth to ZLABA.

collection Dead Sea is one of the most personal lines we have. Sal collecting corals and stones of all the beaches she visited, New Zealand, India, Lake Tahoe, and of course Bali. Each coral or stone is a piece of memory, reliving the moment when she visited the beach -. For others, it is just coral, but for Sal, it is a piece of his

BrightSpot also featured designer Bonnie Natasha Arif whose goal was to create timeless pieces that survive trends his clothes are "Together" and designer Martha Ellen London who studied fashion in Jakarta - Indonesian Ellen used traditional designs such as ikat in his creations. The next BrightSpot market is already scheduled for April-May 2014. Find unique long term, the articles manufactured is not easy and we hope other markets will be accommodating for independent designers. As Noran said, "We like the markets as BrightSpot - it is exactly what we want to be this little shop in the corner with a nice jewelry and a shop assistant that you can always talk about life."
